John A. Tosto

John practices in the areas of State and Federal criminal defense, drunk driving, divorce and custody, civil litigation, drivers license restoration, personal injury and civil rights violations.

John received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, as well as admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.

John has extensive trial experience. Prior to entering private practice, John served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Flint for nearly five years. During his tenure at the City Attorney’s Office, he spent two years as the supervising trial attorney in the City’s criminal prosecution division where he trained others to try cases.

As a licensed pilot and member of the Greater Flint Pilots Association, John is able to reach distant jurisdictions quickly and economically.

John is also very involved in the community including St. John Vianney Catholic Church and School and Flint Powers Catholic High School. He is a sponsor and a 30 year participant of the Crim Festival of Races. He is active with Chamber of Commerce events and participates in many local charity events. John also serves on the Board of Directors for the Genesee County Historical Society.
